'Disgusted With Woody Allen's Behaviour': Lena Dunham Sides With Dylan Farrow Over Sexual Abuse Row

Comedienne and actress Lena Dunham has taken a serious turn as she admits that she is “pro-Dylan Farrow” amid the controversy surrounding film director Woody Allen and his alleged sexual abuse of his adopted daughter. Lena Dunham has spoken out about her support of Dylan Farrow, even calling herself “disgusted” by Woody Allen. This comes after 28-year-old Dylan published an open letter in the New York Times, alleging that her father sexually abused her when she was 7-years-old. Although few celebrities are willing to comment on the open letter, Lena has been very vocal about her support for Dylan and her mother, Mia Farrow. When being interviewed by WTF Podcast, Dunham said: "In the latest Woody Allen debate I'm decidedly pro-Dylan Farrow and decidedly disgusted with Woody Allen's behaviour." The writer and actress behind the HBO hit comedy Girls, also urged people not to look back at Allen's work (which includes Blue Jasmine, Midnight In Paris and Sleeper) to discover hidden signs about his reported sexual abuse.
Lena added: "For me, when people go through his work and comb through it for references to child molestation, that's not the f**king point.
"I'm not gonna indict the work. I think that you can decide that you don't want to support the work of somebody who has molested a child. That's a completely appropriate choice. But going through it and saying, 'Look, he's told us in 57 ways that he rapes kids' - that's not the thing."

The actress believes that is unnecessary due to the reported evidence which 'proves' the allegations to her. She told interviewer, Marc Mahon: "The thing is to look at the actual evidence that exists in the world, which I think strongly suggests that Woody Allen is in the wrong.
"But for me the point is not to go through his one-act plays looking for references to child molestation. Because I'm not comfortable living in a world where art is part of how we convict people of crimes."
Lena is unconcerned that her latest pro-Dylan leanings will leave her blacklisted on future Woody Allen projects, mainly because she doesn't rate his work very highly.
Despite Allen's latest film offering, Blue Jasmine scoring the coveted Best Actress award at the Oscars this year, Dunham thinks his work is “really bad”.
She explained: "I mean for me, I haven't wanted to watch his movies for a long time, partially because of who I think he is and partially because I think they got really bad."
