It is with a heavy heart that we bring you the news that Lindsay Lohan's OWN series will reportedly not be picked up for a second season. The reason for this cancelation is apparently (what else) disappointing ratings.
The Daily Mail reports that Oprah is very upset over the show's ratings and will be unhitching her star from Lohan's (on the) wagon. But that's not the worst part! Apparently Linds is the only one who doesn't know about the cancelation yet.
Bosses at the network originally commissioned the show for a one off run, but had given the star options for further follow ups if it was a success.
"Oprah will tell Lindsay later this month that her show won't be reappearing for in the future," an insider divulged. "First and foremost, the ratings were an absolute disaster. It didn't pull in the viewers that Oprah had hoped for."
The most recent episode of Lindsay only roped in around 390,000 viewers, which doesn't really seem that bad? How many people actually get OWN? Like 500,000 people tops?
In fact, I'm going to go ahead and call shenanigans on this whole thing right now. For anyone who's ever watched the show, Lohan is a named producer! She would be one of the first people to know the show isn't coming back for a second season. And is Oprah really that disappointed in the ratings for Lindsay? This thing has been PR gold for OWN. Be honest, before Lindsay premiered, did you even know that OWN was still a thing? I mean you knew, but did you really think about it? No, of course you did not. More likely, Lindsay herself isn't signing on for a second season because she has no interest in continuing to look like an absolute trainwreck on television on a weekly basis. No thanks, she'll keep that to occasional guest roles on CBS sitcoms, thankyouverymuch.
