U.S. Airways worker who tweeted lewd photo won’t lose job
NEW YORK (PIX11)
It may actually be the tweet seen around the world. But the U.S. Airways employee who sent a pornographic photo through the airline’s official Twitter account won’t lose their job. A customer tweeted at the airlines that it “ruined my sprint break, I want some free stuff.” U.S. Airways responded, saying: “We don’t like to hear this, Alex. Please provide feedback to our Customer Relations team here.” Attached to the airline’s response, however, was a photo of a nude woman using a model airplane while performing a sex act. A company spokesman told the Washington Post the lewd picture was “inadvertently shared” by an employee who apparently meant to flag the image, which was tweeted at an airline, as inappropriate. “It was an honest mistake,” said Matt Miller, a spokesman for the American Airlines Group, the parent company of the recently merged U.S. Airways and American Airlines. Miller told the news outlet that the person who sent the message will not be fired or disciplined. U.S. Airways has since deleted the message and apologized Monday via Twitter. The airlines has not tweeted since.
